Grilled Chicken Shawarma


I love this chicken. Its different and very tasty.

The recipe is from Feasting At Home Blog by Sylvia Fountaine

6 large bone in chicken breasts

2 T ground cumin

2T ground coriander

8 cloves garlic

2 tsp salt

6 T olive oil

1/4 tsp cayenne powder

2 tsp turmeric

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp black pepper

2 tsp allspice

Place everything except the chicken in the food processor till it is smooth.

Rub over all the chicken

Marinate for one hour or up to 24 hours.

Grill on medium high heat for about 8 minutes on each side

Make sure the lid is closed

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for another 20 minutes or until cooked through.

I cut the chicken into slices and placed it on a salad of arugula, rice, chick peas, banana peppers, feta cheese, olives, lemon dressing and topped it with a yogurt dill sauce.

I also added some steamed vegetables on the side with pita chips.

This was so good.
