Waistline Wednesday
Sometimes you just have to give in and indulge in something decadent. The only trouble is that my waistline starts to expand just looking at anything sweet. On that note lets make it anyway.
Triple Chocolate Cake
One box of moist chocolate cake mix
One large box of chocolate pudding. The kind you have to cook on the stove
One recipe for ganache frosting:
Boil one cup of heavy cream
8 ounces of dark or bittersweet chocolate chips
Put the chips in a bowl. Pour the cream on top and let it sit for one minute. Start stirring until everything is melted and smooth then keep on stirring for another couple of minutes till it thickens up just a little. Pour over the cake. The ganache should be real shinny
If you want a thicker layer of ganache double this recipe. I have done this to use up my cream and there is never too much chocolate.
Fresh whipped cream
Make the chocolate cake according to the box directions. Bake in a 8X10 pan that you are planning to serve the cake in because it can’t be moved after it bakes.
While the cake is baking , cook the chocolate pudding according to the package directions.
When the cake comes out of the oven, take a chop stick and make a ton of holes in the top of the cake. Do not go all the way threw to the bottom of the cake or else it will get too soggy.
Slowly pour the chocolate pudding over the cake trying to fill in every hole.
Wait till the pudding sets then pour the ganache over the pudding. Lightly spread the ganache. Do not go down to the pudding layer.
Make chocolate curls or thin pieces of chocolate candy for the topping.
Serve with whipped cream
This is so good
The cake has to be refrigerated
