wHam Wednesday

I try to save money whenever I can, so I look for sales. I will not compromise quality,

The market had hams on sale for a great price so I bought one.

Tonight I am going to bake it in the oven with just a little glaze at the very end. Just bake it according to the directions on the package.

The ham is naturally salty so limit anything else that has  a lot of sodium in it. I served steamed   green beans and baked sweet potatoes.

Try a cabbage salad with the ham. Shred 1/2  red or green cabbage.

Add 1/2 chopped onion

one teaspoon of sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup of cider vinegar

one small chopped, unskinned gala apple

1/2 teaspoon of dried dill

The leftover ham can be used for sandwiches and save the bone for a delicious pea soup. Freeze the bone if you are not going to make the soup within the week.
