Personal Frying Pan Pizza
I never order pizza any more because I end up eating the entire pie.
These little pizzas are fabulous and you can make the size you want.
You need a eight inch oven proof frying pan.
One pound of pizza dough cut into four equal pieces
One tablespoon oil
1/2 clove crushed garlic
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon tomato sauce
One tablespoon grated cheese
Sprinkle of garlic powder and oregano
One slice mozzarella or muenster cheese
Optional topping sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions etc.
Heat your oven to broil
Put the oil, garlic and salt in the frying pan
Slightly brown the garlic
Don’t burn it.
Stretch out one portion of the dough to fit the pan.
It should be about seven or eight inches
Gently place the dough in the hot oil
Put all the topping on now.
Make sure the dough is not sticking to the sides of the pan and if so just scrape it down to the oiled surface.
Cook on medium to medium high heat for about a minute. Check the bottom of the dough, just lift up the edge with a fork.
It should be starting to brown.
Keep on the stove for about another minute or two.
Check to see if it is the color you like.
I like a good golden brown color because I like it crispy.
Take the entire pan and place it under the broiler until the cheese is bubbling and melted.
This takes about a minute or two.
Do not leave the oven, this needs to be watched. It burns in a second.
These pizzas could be made ahead of time and served hot or cold. They also freeze well.
I also made a sausage, spinach and three cheese pizza.
Now I’m going overboard and also made a feta, ricotta cheese and olive pie.
Calorie wise I should just order the large pizza.
